You might have heard about SEO if you’re starting a book blog (or any blog). SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the concept of utilizing specific methods on your blog or website that help make it more attractive to search engines.

As you are probably aware, making the most out of these methods can be more than a bit time-consuming and extra work when all you want to do is write an article and press that publish button.

Is SEO important for a book blog or any website?

The short answer: Yes.

Here’s why.

#1 – SEO will Help Your Book Blog Be Viewed on Search Engines

SEO is an invaluable skill to learn if you want to start a website and even more important to master if you’re starting in a competitive niche like book blogging.

SEO is the key to getting your website seen by readers on the internet by appearing more attractive to search engines. Without using proper SEO methods, more than likely, your website will be lost in the sea of endless blogs and websites that are already out there.

Book blogs are one of the most competitive niches on the market, but it’s also one where SEO is utilized the least. Most people with book blogs are focused entirely on writing their next review for the latest book they’ve read, and that’s it. It’s easy to forget about the backend details when getting the following book review published is prioritized on their to-do list.

If a person happens to google “book blog,” the top results would be various book blogs that Google deems the most valuable to their users. In this example, the term “book blog” was the keyword.

You wouldn’t randomly start writing about the hamburger you had for dinner the other night. That wouldn’t make any sense.

The Best SEO TooLs For A Book Blog

So, with all of that said, what are the best SEO tools to help you learn the SEO techniques? There are two SEO tools that I think stand out from the rest.

Rank Math and Yoast are the two best SEO plug-ins that I think are the best for book blogging and website building. I currently use Rank Math for my article writing, but I used Yoast previously.

The benefits to both SEO plug-ins are that their step-by-step instructions make optimization for search engines in your writing very simple.

Rank Math uses a grading system that gives tips on what you should have in your article for it to be the most attractive to search engines. On the other hand, Yoast uses a red light green light system. Though both work wonderfully, I have found that Rank Math is a little less strict when telling you how good your SEO is for your article compared to Yoast. However, a more strict guide may be what you want.
